New Mates & Travel Dates is for people who’d love a few more friends to get out and do things with. Maybe you want someone to try a new bar with, take a spontaneous day trip, head away for a weekend or even join you on that overseas holiday you keep talking about. You definitely don’t need to be a seasoned traveller - this is just as much about finding someone for a Sunday drive down the coast as it is finding someone to fly to Europe with!

We find these events work brilliantly when you come solo… in fact, most people do. It means everyone arrives open to meeting someone new. But you’re absolutely welcome to bring a friend, partner or two as well. We’ll take away some of that awkward “so… what do we talk about?” feeling with activities that naturally get everyone chatting, laughing and finding out what they have in common.

Once everyone is settled, and you have your welcome drink, the friendly competition begins! We’ll have travel-themed trivia, games and challenges throughout the afternoon, with some great prizes waiting for our winners. For noting you absolutely do not need to be good at trivia. The games are there to help you bond with your teammates and have a laugh.

There’ll be breaks throughout the afternoon so you can enjoy the food, grab another drink from the private bar and mix with different people. We’ll also have activities designed to help you discover the people whose travel style and idea of a good time might actually match yours - because sometimes all you need is someone else to say, “Yep, I’m in!”

The event will end around 4pm, however you are more than welcome to stay at Barrels & Stills, should you want to kick on with your newfound besties.
